Chitlin's On The Loose

Well, after a few months of seeing a bulge develop on my inner thigh I went to the doctors.

Being "In Network" is a real important thing with my insurance so I have to visit my Primary Care Physician, who has to look at the afflicted area and then refer me to a specialist - a hernia doctor (really a general surgeon).

I had the visit today and my chitlin's are definitely poking out of my gut. My surgery is scheduled for March 31st. The surgeon will stick a "plug" and a patch in the offending area. The plug is kind of like a badminton shuttlecock that is placed in the hole in the abdominal wall and it then opens and stops my guts from pressing out and causing a problem. The patch goes on top of this and then adheres to the muscle of the abdomen.

I should be ready to be ready to resume full activities a few days after the operation.
